Salone del Volo Festival dell'Aria

On September 24-26, the “Salone del Volo, Festival dell’Aria” will once again be held at the Nicelli Airport, in Venice Lido. This event is sponsored by the Expo Venice, a Venice trade show company planned with the logistical support of Prima Aviation, an agency that has been in the air show business for years.
The event features a program filled with events that include, in addition to the trade show, exciting air shows and opportunities to compare and learn more about aviation through interesting conventions. The trade show will feature famous companies and sector operators that will have the opportunity to present their products made in Italy to international guests especially invited for the event. In fact, the goal of this trade show is to become a major event of aeronautical science and not only for Italy, striving to reach an ever increasing number of foreign guests.
Again this year, the event will feature the recurring “Air Extreme” show, an amazing show that will feature some of the best European solo pilots performing in a freestyle competition which will take place in the showcase of the lagoon in front of the Airport.

Friday September 24, 2010
All day: static air displays
Helicopter tour (for a fee, reservations on site)
Time 12:00 noon: Trade show and displays opening time
3:00 PM:  Convention on simulated flight and its importance in training (ACV Padua)
All day: airplane demonstration companies

Saturday September 25, 2010
All day: Visit static displays – arrivals and departures of registered private airplanes. Airplane demonstration companies.
11:00 AM: Convention on aeronautical press
Time 12:00 noon: Official opening (political and administrative authorities of Italy and Veneto will be in attendance)
Time 3:00 PM: Best European Flight Line Award
Times 2:00-5:00 PM: Air show – City of Milan Trophy final national competition of full freestyle with the participation of foreign pilots (acrobatic demonstrations by pilots, teams, paragliders and much more)

Directions

The airport entrance is located a few meters from the Ferry stop or, for those arriving by water bus, just a few minutes' bus ride away.

From Venice
From the Santa Lucia station:
opposite the station, water bus line 51, 61 or 2 to Lido / Santa Maria Elisabetta (approximately 35 minutes)
From the landing at Lido Santa Maria Elisabetta take bus B.

From the mainland
By car: to get to Lido by car, you must ride the Ferry boat that leaves from Tronchetto and stops at Lido - S. Nicolò by Nicelli airport (for times visit the website www.actv.it; Tel. 041.2424). The Ferry may be used even by non-driving passengers.
